4th of July Fruit Tart/Nan Kelley/One Pan Nan

A perfect holiday sweet for your picnic, barbecue, or family get together. I’ve had this recipe for years and have to make it every July 4th. It is very easy to do and makes such a pretty picture and a tasty, light treat for your celebration. Happy 250th Birthday, America!!! Hope you and your family have a safe and fun holiday together.

Ingredients

1 refrigerated pie crust

8 ounces cream cheese, softened

8 ounces sour cream

1/4-1/2 cup sugar

fresh blueberries

fresh strawberries, cored & sliced

whipped cream

Instructions

1. Allow refrigerated pie crust to reach room temperature.

2. Reshape the pie crust into a rectangle and bake according to the package instructions. Allow to cool.

3. Transfer carefully (I use my pizza paddle) to serving dish/platter to finish making.

4. Mix cream cheese, sour cream and sugar in a bowl. Spread mixture on to crust.

5. Arrange layered strawberries in rows--about 4 rows depending on size of dough--for the red stripes of the flag, alternating with rows of whipped cream. Cover star area with blueberries and dot the whipped cream throughout to represent the stars.

6. Chill, serve, and Happy 4th of July!

Notes

I posted this last 4th of July and probably will for every one in the future. It's too good and too easy not to revisit.
